Will I recieve college credit?

Classes completed through the ULC earn college credit at the institution which provides the course and many are transferable to the other institutions. All ULC classes are credit-bearing, with the following exceptions:

  • Non-credit classes
  • Developmental courses - developmental or remedial classes appear on your transcript but the credits do not count as requirements for graduation. Often students need these courses to build skills needed for other courses or as requirements.
  • Gateway Community and Technical College (GCTC) courses: Credits earned in classes offered by GCTC that fulfill general education requirements will transfer to Kentucky post secondary institutions through written articulation agreements that are currently in place. Credits earned in classes that are specific to a particular major will transfer if there is a written agreement between GCTC and the other institutions for the different program areas. At this time, there is a limited number of program specific majors in place. The process for adding to these agreements is ongoing and more are being finalized.
